Quotes:
“ARC Canada is proud to participate in Nuclear Science Week. With the nuclear industry projected to grow exponentially in New Brunswick over the coming decades, it is crucial we prepare youth for these well-paying jobs in manufacturing, operations and business. The youth of today will play a key role in the energy transition and Nuclear Science Week is a great way to educate them about the opportunities of tomorrow.”
- William P. Labbe, President & CEO, ARC Canada
“There are going to be hundreds of new jobs in the nuclear industry and accompanying supply chain thanks to the development of SMRs in New Brunswick. We want to make sure young people are aware of the opportunities related to the generation of new clean energy.”
- Rory O’Sullivan, CEO, North America, Moltex Energy
“This week is a great opportunity to engage in a conversation with young New Brunswickers about how nuclear energy can be part of the solution to help Canada get to net-zero emissions by 2050 and help us continue to deliver safe, reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective electricity as we move towards non-emitting generation. In New Brunswick, nuclear energy already accounts for up to 30 per cent of all electricity used on a given day, which is a key contributor to our approximately 80 per cent carbon free electricity for our customers.”
- Keith Cronkhite, President & CEO, NB Power
“The Centre of Excellence for Energy is very excited to be hosting webinars for Nuclear Science Week. Learning opportunities like these will help to improve the energy literacy of New Brunswick students and expose them to career opportunities in the energy sector.”
- Adam Trider, Centre of Excellence for Energy Lead, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
